Age guideline 4-7, 7-11

About the event
Izzy loves all the stories the Ancient Greeks told. She can't wait to tell her friends about Icarus, who was a total numpty, and the Trojan Horse, which ended a war and wasn't even real! Pull up a plinth and get lost in the drama of the original Greek myths, as told by Blue Peter Award winners Pamela Butchart and Thomas Flintham, in collaboration with the British Museum. This is the latest in the Baby Aliens series featuring vampire rats, demon dinner ladies, werewolves and a phantom lollipop man – dive in and join Izzy’s adventures. Pamela will share hilarious stories granted to make you giggle.

The Reader Teacher’s Top Tip

Thanks to Scott Evans, The Reader Teacher, for this top teacher tip:

‘This event is fantastic to use when teaching English, drama and history in the curriculum as Pamela shares in her laugh-out-loud style all about the books she has written and her newest book about the original Greek myths and wild and wacky world of the Greek gods as she takes us back in time retelling them through the voice of Izzy.’  @MrEPrimary

About the author and illustrator
Pamela Butchart
was lucky enough to grow up in a house full of pets and go to a primary school where lots of spooky and weird things happened (well, in her imagination at least). As a student, Pamela’s student jobs included: fishwife, teaching basketball in America, phlebotomist and Artist Liaison for a (really bad) Abba tribute band. Now, when she’s not writing or going out and about meeting readers, Pamela teaches philosophy to teenagers. She lives in Dundee with her son Albie and two cats called Bear and Carlos.
