About the Event

Does a story need words? If it doesn't then how can we possibly read it? Author JonArno Lawson and illustrator Qin Leng don't think they do and work together to create 'silent' picture books, wordless stories that allow the reader to use their imaginations to create their own stories. Join JonArno as he introduces the worlds of their latest picture books, Over the Shop and A Day for Sandcastles both beautiful, immersive stories of friendship, family and coming together to build community. Go on a journey, led by the images, and discover the characters and scenes, spotting the many details depicted and described that will pull you into the wonderful world of the wordless book.
